OVER FOR NOW

Well we finally got the Shamisen in and working on our track. We copied the midi piano track into Logic as a GM instrument. It didn't play. We tried pressing all the different buttons that we have previously pressed on numerous occasions but none of them worked. We hadn't even vchanged the piano for the shamisen at this point so it was really frustrating. We went to ask Matt. He found the shamisen on his laptop in Logic and said we would need to play it as an ESX24 instrument rather than GM. We went back to our mac to try it but we couldn't find the shamisen. Matt had to save it from his hard drive and save it on ours....it then worked!! We copied this back into protools with our track. Nic suggested we still keep the piano track there, i agreed when listening to both options, it creates a thickness and sounds fuller. So we now have a slight Japanese sound to our song, alongside weird, quirky, eerie, sinister noises contrasted with our angelic tonal voices. In other words: an organised shambles!! We are now going to leave the track and get the filming sorted. On Monday we are going to the Mac to see the Fairytale and Folklore Art exhibition, we may get some inspiration. Hopefully we will have a talk from Greg about filming techniques pretty soon. We need to create a sort of story board of events for the video. I have a location in mind already. It's Hurcott Pool in Kidderminster, which has woods and an old open shed that could be ideal. Nic and I need to go and view it together to check it out so that will probably happen wednesday. We spoke a little about effects on the vid. I was getting really funny scenes in my head when listening to one of the sound effects so we may explore that.
